The School of Engineering invites applications from distinguished scholars and teachers for one position at either the Assistant (tenure-track) or Associate/Full (tenured) level in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing faculty in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at a new University of California campus, and to contribute to long-term program building. Electrical Engineering and Computer Science will be in a new engineering building and faculty will be part of a highly collaborative research environment.

Many computational problems in science and engineering require the most powerful computers available today. The widespread deployment of multicore and many core architectures has highlighted the need to exploit parallel computing techniques. We seek outstanding applicants in the area of high performance computing. However, excellent applicants in other computer science research areas will also be considered. Preferred applicants will have demonstrated research expertise and teaching experience in at least one of the areas relevant to high performance computing broadly conceived, such as algorithms; applications; architecture & networks; grids & clouds; programming systems; storage, visualization & analytics; and software systems. The new faculty in this position will develop and teach courses within the undergraduate and graduate curriculum and develop externally funded research programs. The campus is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and service.

Qualifications: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
For Assistant Professor position: A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Computer Science or other relevant field (preferred by July 1, 2014, must be conferred by December 31, 2014); demonstrated record of research and teaching.
